Teachers facilitate parts of the Performance Planning sessions to build effective, engaging, and aligned lessons as a stronger Professional Learning Community.



After modeling the Performance Planning Process, BMS teachers were able to lead their own process, from unpacking the TEKS to planning aligned and engaging lessons based on this process. BMS teachers have been able to facilitate their own planning sessions. The Department Head has supported the Social Studies team in facilitating sessions for other campuses.

At SMS this Planning process even involved the School Principal, the Librarian, and the Instructional Coach. We collaborated to develop an aligned plan to prepare the students through hands-on activities to acquire the content and skills required to be successful on STAAR. This was an experience of growht, not only for the SMS team, but also for me as a new IDF.
